Knowing when the local temperature climbs above set thresholds allows you to react before a crisis occurs.

Keeping an eye on the localized humidity will let you know if you run the risk of operating your network in an unsafe environment.

This simple but invaluable addition to the system can alert you when unexpected activity occurs at an odd time of day. Is someone in the rack or datacenter when they shouldn't be?

It is generally recommended that external temperature probes be placed throughout your server room or network closet to get a more detailed view of hot spots and closer monitoring of air conditioner function.

Monitoring temperature and humidity at the same physical locations provides you with important environmental conditions that must be monitored to ensure IT devices are kept within manufacturer's published specifications.

A/C units can and do overflow.  We here it quite frequently.  Use our wetness probe to get alerted when this unwanted environmental intruder makes its way into your IT infrastructure.

Being capable of functioning as a stand alone system allows the user to get up and running quickly and effortlessly.

This makes it very easy to quickly identify what's in an alert state. There is an LED and buzzer which was designed in such a way so that it is instantly obvious something is wrong and needs your attention ASAP.

Receiving alerts to cell phones and emails is a must these days. When there's a potential problem brewing you need to know about it fast and receiving alerts multiple ways increases the odds that you'll be found if/when this situation occurs. The Senturion is capable of sending these alerts itself via an SMTP server.

Many customers have a trap receiver "listening" for problems. This makes it very convenient to "tie into" your existing notification system and thus avoiding re-inventing something that already exists.

Each probe can be configured to alert only during times when it makes sense to avoid false alerting. For example, you likely want to know when the light level in your datacenter goes above a particular threshold, but you probably only want this during the night time hours when the lights should be off. So you simply set up an Alert Schedule and define the start/stop when the probe should initiate alerts. 

You may already be in the server room when all of a sudden the unit goes into alarm mode and the local LED and Buzzer alerting gets your attention. Being able to acknowledge the alerts locally tells others that someone is in the server room and is knowledgeable of this event.

Being able to configure the device from any PC with a browser is convenient and saves you time. No trips to some remote location that is hard to reach. Just type in the IP address of the unit and make changes or check current conditions from wherever you may be.

While not used extensively by customers, we are often told that they come in handy after they've just received an alert.  They can quickly log into the Senturion and get a visual of what's going on and it helps when deciding next steps.

All Sensatronics products provide a common XML interface which allows you to easily gather the raw data and manipulate it in a way that suites your unique custom application.

Having a self-contained turnkey system which logs events is essential to providing quick information on what the unit is seeing. This is beneficial for a number of reasons, including helping you to diagnose a problem.

Our monitors with internal web pages have an auto refresh feature which allows for easy viewing of the data in applications where continuous manual monitoring may be necessary.

Multiple users can be logged into the Senturion simultaneously making it convenient for various users of the system to monitor and manage at the same time.

Each user can be given specific access rights as determined by the administrator thereby giving you control and increased security.

Any alterations to the admin settings, alerting mechanisms, thresholds, or other features are logged and available for viewing.  Great feature for compliance and knowing who did what and when.

Monitors allow you to use current SNMP network management software saving you time and improved integration into current processes.

Redundancy is important. If one listening server goes down, for example, it's nice to know your environmental monitoring will still function.

A heartbeat trap, while using up more bandwidth than just a single trap upon an event, can be an easy way to ensure the monitor is always functioning and reporting back valid data.

Save a little bandwidth and only query a single OID. If everything is "OK" then there is no need to test anything further.

Senturion's small height leaves you more room to attach other IT networking equipment to the rack. Fits industry-standard 19" rack enclosures.

The Senturions small depth (3.5") allows for placement in the rear of the rack for a "Zero U" space requirement.

For those of you requiring additional external sensors, having a convenient way to manage all the cables helps keep the area neat. And a neat server rack is safer and makes it easier to manage.

Displaying the local conditions is nice for those times when you happen to be in the server room. The LCD also makes it very obvious when a probe goes into an alert state.

Faster installation saves you time to move onto other critical tasks. Simply snap the probes into the connectors and you're done. The unit will identify the probe type and populate the list. You just need to set the thresholds and you are done.

This is a major reason why many customers select Sensatronics monitors.  It just doesn't make sense to purchase yet another software application when you already have your own Network Monitoring Software (NMS) that is already configured to notify the right people when something bad is happening. 

Use your own NMS and we can even provide tutorials to help you get up and running.  Not only are we familar with most NMS app's on the market, we will be there to help you get up and running and we will do so at no cost to you.  Our approach from the beginning has been to be compatible with every NMS application on the market and focus on what we do best.

  It just doesn't make sense for you to relearn yet another application specific to environmental monitoring, nor does it make sense to keep paying for yearly software upgrades and maintenance contracts on a piece of software that is specific to one very narrow area of your IT responsibilities.  We allow you to leverage what you already use.
